Fall Getaway!

We had our annual Fall Getaway retreat this past weekend. It was so nice to be back after we had to cancel last year due to Covid. We had about 160 students and staff there. It was a full weekend of community, good teaching, some good completive fun, and low amounts of sleep. My favorite part about about fall getaway is the way the Lord uses this weekend to push students. He always has a way of using this retreat to open students ears and hearts and move them in new ways. Here's a little about Alexa's experience at Fall Getaway:

"Going to H2O’s Fall Getaway was an incredible experience! The theme was ‘Risen’, so all three messages were centered around the resurrection of Jesus. Having been a follower of Jesus for a while, sometimes I find it’s the most foundational messages that deepen my walk with Him the most.

Outside of the main sessions, Fall Getaway also provided a portion of the morning reserved for each of us to spend time alone with the Lord in nature. It was so powerful knowing that God was individually strengthening the members of His Body during that time! The weekend was full of valuable time of fellowship for our church. I definitely grew in relationship with God and others in the church- I left feeling freshly equipped to go out into the world!"

Ben (pictured in photo on top right) got to sing in the worship band this year. He loves getting to serve the church and students in this way. God has given him the gift of singing and getting to help others pursue God through musical worship is definitely a joy for him.

Prayer Request:

  • That God would continue to stir the hearts of the students and teach them more about who He is. That they would grow in their relationship with Him and share the Gospel with the lost around them.

  • We have a women's retreat coming up in October. We will really be focusing on sin struggles and how to find victory through Christ. Pray that the Lord would use this event to convict the women in our church and turn their hearts away from sin.

  • That God would continue to provide supporters for my financial team. I love working for H2O and reaching the students at the University of Cincinnati. However, I can not do that without the support from people like you.
